The №1 Draft Pick: Trevor Lawernce

This Thursday, April 29th the NFL Draft will take place. The 2021 number one pick is quarterback Trevor Lawrence who is the most looked at the prospect in the NFL Draft has had in years. The Jacksonville Jaguars are predicted to pick up the Clemson QB. Lawrence has said in a Sports Illustrated interview that he is excited to get started in his NFL career but “It’s not like I need this for my life to be OK,” via Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk. “I want to do it because I want to be the best I can be. I want to maximize my potential. Who wouldn’t want to? You kind of waste it if you don’t.”

Lawrence recently got married to longtime girlfriend Marisa Mowry. The couple is both 21 years old and has been dating for around six years. The couple married in South Carolina where Trevor Lawernce first started playing football and Marisa Mowry first started playing soccer. The newly wedded couple is ready for the draft this weekend and to start a new journey in their lives. Dan Lian from the Sports Spectrum Magazine says “It really was a big thing for him to start reconciling in his heart that even though he wanted to excel in football and he was graced with the ability to play it, that life was bigger”.

Going into the draft Lawrence says “faith is the most important thing” Trevor and Marisa have a very close relationship with God. On their Instagram accounts, they often share bible verses and pictures showing their faith. No matter what happens during the 2021 NFL Draft the Lawerence family has faith in God to take them places in life.
